Pixi Beauty Pretty Eye Perfection Palette (Swatches & First Impressions)

I posted about the products I won from a giveaway in this post. If you haven't viewed it yet, go give the link a click! I thought I'd swatch the products for you, and swatched this product first.

Here are the swatches per section:

All of the shades in this section were frosty, shimmery, shades. As you can see, the second and fourth colors are quite similar. However, the second one is more peachy, and the fourth is definitely lighter. The first color in this section reminded me a lot of Cocoa Pizzazz from Benefit's Cabana Glama. I've swatched the Cabana Glama set, and you can click here to view it. The third one is just a shimmery periwinkle color.

This section contains the only shade without shimmer, and it's the leftmost color. The first color reminded me of the MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Summer Haze, which I also swatched in this blog. Click here if you're want to view that entry. The second one is a gunmetal color. The third is a shimmery blue, and the matte one is brown.

The first three colors would really be perfect for nighttime. The first one is a dark olive, the second is a taupe-y plum, the third is a dark blue, and the last one is a bronze that could be either a day or night shadow. I think all of the colors in this section have gold glitters in it.

So what do you think of this palette? I think it's pretty great to have suck a sleek palette with so much colors that are really pigmented. It is about 8 inches long, 2 inches wide, and less than 0.5 inch thick. This palette could totally go from day to night. It might be the only palette you would need on a vacation. However, I would like it more if it had at least three matte colors to work with. I think a lot of shimmer could be overwhelming sometimes.

You can view the details about this product (price, ingredients, availability), by heading on to Pixi Beauty's website here.

Hope you liked this entry!

I Won a Makeup Giveaway!

Yay! It's my first time to win anything from the internet. I love giveaways! I remember when I was younger, I joined a giveaway being held by a magazine I've been reading at that time. It was for a plush keychain! I sent a text message to some number, and a month after, I learned that I won that keychain. What's funny about the story is that I had to claim the prize somewhere that wasn't near our place. My parents always joked about how the gas money to get to that place was way more expensive than my prize. Oh well, they were right. Haha! And I don't even remember what happened to that keychain. :P

I just wanted to share this with you since I'm going to swatch my prizes soon! I'm also thinking of a challenge based on one of the prizes. I'll announce it soon!

I won palettes from Pixi Beauty! Pixi Beauty is created by Petra Strand, and is launched in London.
Here are my prizes:

Pixi Pretty Eye Perfection Palette

Pixi Week of Wakeup Makeup

I cannot tell you how excited I am for these products, especially for the Week of Wakeup Makeup! I have special plans for that one! ;)

By the way, I won this from a giveaway Crystal or crystalis007 on her blog and YouTube! If you don't know her, she gives awesome reviews of a lot of beauty products. You can view here blog here, and her YouTube channel here.

That's it! Swatches soon!

Products I'm Trying, and a Couple of Announcements

Montagne Jeunesse Whitening Mask, Bench Clearpore, and Garnier Oil Clear Mask

These are the masks I've been using lately. Well, the middle one is a nose pack, really. I already reviewed the Garnier Oil Clear Mask. If you haven't seen it, you can click here. I've been using it for 2 months now! The Bench nose pack is something I haven't tried for a long time. I'm thinking of doing a comparison review with Etude Houses' nose pack.

The Montagne Jeunesse mask is the one that's really new to me. I've been seeing it a lot while browsing the skin care areas of drugstores. I haven't been a mask person until lately. I thought I'd try it out since my face got darker than my chest area, because of the snorkeling we did when we were at Batangas. I've read a couple of reviews, and I haven't read a single negative one. So I guess that's a good sign! I'll be doing my own review, when I used it enough to establish my take on this product.

Since I mentioned my Batangas trip, I thought I'd mention that I placed new things on my side bar! You can now check out my personal blog, by clicking the little rectangle with the appropriate label. You can read about my life and thoughts there!

I also made a Facebook page for my two blogs! There's also a little rectangle box on my side bar for that, or you can click the picture above! It would mean a lot to me is you showed your support for this blog by liking my Facebook page. You will also be updated with my latest posts through there!

Thanks for reading!

Palladio Herbal Eyeshadow Primer (Review)

Palladio Eyeshadow Primer
Price: 385 Php at Beauty Bar

I've been using this product for a little less than two months. I got this through Emily Eddington's, or emilynoel83 on Youtube, recommendation. I was on a hunt for a decent primer that wouldn't cost me much, and I bumped into Palladio while browsing in Beauty Bar. I didn't think they sold it here in the Philippines, but I was really glad I found it.

I have oily to combination skin type, and I would usually get creasing eyeshadow during a whole night with makeup on. I thought it was normal, but I really learned a lot upon watching makeup videos on Youtube. When I learned that primers could help me with my problem, I immediately looked for one, and found Ellana's eye primer. I reviewed that primer here. It just didn't work for me, and I was again, looking for a good primer, and I found one in the form of Palladio! :)

My first impression of this product was that it had a little inside the tube, but I guess a little goes a long way since I'm on my second month of using it. I generally like this primer. It really does the job! I haven't had creasing when  I wear it, and it also makes the colors more vibrant.

Palladio Eyeshadow Primer Applicator

My only bad experience from this product was when I wasn't able to blend it right after I applied it on my lids. That was my fault of course, as we should always blend right after application. I wouldn't say that this product dries easily. It certainly gives you enough time to blend. Just use that time wisely. Haha! Don't be like me. Once it sets, it's there! I had white patches on my lids! I just wiped it away with a makeup remover wipe, and reapplied.

So, there! This product is definitely worth the buy, since we don't really have decent eye primers in our local brands. If only we had a real NYX store here in the Philippines. I only know one store that sells NYX products in Glorietta, and they don't even have a lot of products.

I really love this product. However, I would still keep looking for a cheaper alternative. I'm looking to try NYX's HD eye primer soon! If that doesn't work out, I guess I'll settle for this one! It's affordable! It's good! What's not to love?

Hope this helped!

Summer Beauty Faves

Since I'm kind of late in posting an April Faves post, I thought I'd make this my summer faves. April IS summer anyway (in the Philippines).

My first fave is definitely a summer must-have!

Nivea Lip Balm with SPF 30+

Lip sun protection, something that one would really need, especially when going to the beach. Your lips need sun protection, too!

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain

I know there's a new Revlon Just Bitten line in some countries, but here in the Philippines, it's still just this one. I love this for all day events like outings, which we have a lot of during the summer. It lasts long, and used with the balm, not at all drying. You can read my full review about this product, here!

Maybelline Mineral Foundation

I've been using this powder for years! I love using BB cream during the summer, but having an oily/combination skin tone, I need a powder to set it and make it less dewy. This powder foundation is not only good with that, it also adds extra coverage!

Next is my favorite moisturizer at the moment!

St. Ives Timeless Skin Facial Moisturizer

I just posted a review on this. If you haven't read it yet, you can click here to view! I love this moisturizer, and I included it in my Summer Beauty Faves, because it's a light moisturizer with a light scent!

Last, but not least, is my fave summer scent!

Pure Seduction by Victoria's Secret

I love this for the summer because it's a really fruity scent! Some of my friends find it too sweet, though!

That's it for my Summer Beauty Faves!
What are your beauty faves for the summer?

St. Ives Timeless Skin Facial Moisturizer (Review)

St. Ives Timeless Skin Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer

I have been using this for about two months now, that I can definitely say that my skin did not have bad reactions to it. This was the first product I got, in my attempt to include anti-aging products in my daily routine. I've read good reviews about it, and thought I'd give it a try, since I already love St. Ives' Apricot scrub.

As a person with combination skin, I found that after a while, the dry parts of my skin would still need moisture. So if you're a person with really dry skin, I don't think this moisturizer would solve your problems. If you're a person with normal to oily skin, this product might be the one for you!

Of course I wouldn't be talking about the anti-aging effects of this product, just yet. I'm still in my early 20's, and I am in no place to say if it's working on me. Haha! However, that's why I bought it. I read a lot of reviews where they've been using it for years, and could really see its effects regarding the anti-aging properties.

Back part :)

"Dermatologist Tested. Non-Comedogenic.
Not tested on Animals. Without Parabens and Pthalates"

I also tried this moisturizer when I just came from the beach, and my face had sunburns. It didn't sting that much, and it even gave a cooling, calming, sensation! It has a good subtle scent that doesn't irritate.

I think you get a good amount of product for the price you pay. This is around 280+ Php at Watsons, and you get 283 g!

Hope this helps!

Current Nails: Sugar Daddy Pink Chocolate Gradient Nails

I decided to try the gradient nails for the second time. This time, I only used two colors. I wanted it to be simple and summer-y. I used Essie's Sugar Daddy as the base color, and Orly's Pink Chocolate as the darker shades.

Personally, I liked my first try better. The sponge I used was the reason why this is so. The one I used for the second one was the leftover sponge, and it was kind of deteriorating. The star behind the gradient nail design is the sponge! A good sponge will result to a better nail design. Also, I really like it when there's a middle color. I guess it is okay if you're using two light colors, and the change in color would be gradual.

I also added a bling to my ring fingers. My sister bought this Nail Art Kit with 12 colors of tiny stones. I glued them on, and added a top coat!

Hope you liked this design!

Maybelline Lipstick: Coral Crush (Swatches)

The last lipstick from the Coral Lipsticks for the Summer is here!
Maybelline may be the least vibrant among the three, but for the price, it delivers good color.

MAC Amplified Lipstick: Impassioned (Swatches)

Another lippie from Coral Lipsticks for the Summer (mini haul).

Similar to my latest entry, this lipstick is another MAC Amplified lipstick. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, click here to view my previous post about MAC's Watch Me Simmer. :)

MAC Impassioned

I don't really know if this is available in the Philippines, because I had a hard time looking for it. I found it on an online shop, and decided to get it together with Watch Me Simmer. Impassioned is one of the shades included in the MAC Fashion Sets Collection in the US. I heard that the shades in the collection will differ depending on what's more popular in the country.

Here's a swatch:

MAC Impassioned Swatch

It's really pigmented like Watch Me Simmer, but Impassioned is darker and a lot more pink. In the Coral Lipsticks post, you can see the two colors swatched side-by-side.

Here are pictures when worn:

MAC Impassioned when worn on lips

I love the color and formulation of this lipstick. However, it's not an everyday lipstick, at least for me. I'll wear this when I want a pop of color, or when I want to look more dressed up.

Do you like this color?

Hope you found this entry helpful!

MAC Amplified Lipstick: Watch Me Simmer (Swatches)

Forgive me for not being able to blog for a couple of days. I took a few days off, to mourn for my broken lipstick (ha! not really), which is the one I will feature today. I broke it while swatching it on my arm. It's really sad since this is the first lipstick that I tracked down. Oh well, at least I'm going to be able to share it with you guys!

This lipstick was included in my last post, Coral Lipsticks for the Summer (mini haul), click the link if you haven't seen it yet.

MAC Watch Me Simmer
(before it broke :( )

As I mentioned in my previous post, this lippie is from the Shop! Shop! Shop! Cook! Cook! Cook! MAC Collection, or simply Shop MAC! Cook MAC! It's an amplified lipstick, which makes it AWESOME!

Here's a swatch:

MAC Watch Me Simmer Swatch

Do you want me to show you a picture of the broken version?
No? Well, I'm still going to show you!!

My poor broken lipstick

I decided to take a picture as I was writing this. I made a lame attempt to put it back. So there.

I really hope you liked this entry, since I broke my lipstick because of it. Haha!

EDIT: My sister thinks that the lipstick was easy to break because of the summer heat. Either that, or I exerted extra effort to swatch this lippie. Or! I became the girl Hulk for a split second. What do you think? I realized that I shouldn't have had it all the way up when I swatched it, but I think I do that with every other lipstick I swatched. Oh well, what's done is done. Haha!

Coral Lipsticks for the Summer! (mini haul)

I recently joined the coral lipstick bandwagon, and boy am I loving it!
I decided to share with you guys, three coral lippies that I love!

MAC Watch Me Simmer

This lipstick came out the first time, in MAC's Shop Shop Shop! Cook Cook Cook! Collection. It's also a repromote in the Reel Sexy Collection. I don't know if the Reel Sexy Collection is already out in the Philippines, but I know that it comes out this May. I really had a hard time looking for this color! I was kind of late for the Shop MAC Cook MAC Collection, and this lippie was really a big hit! It's an amplified lipstick, and I loooove amplified lipsticks! They stay on better than the other kinds, plus the color's really vibrant.

MAC Impassioned

This is on the darker side of the coral spectrum. It's more of a pinky-red, with the coral hue. This is another amplified lipstick! It stains the lips, which makes it last more hours! This lipstick is also harder to find in the Philippines. I'm not sure if it really is a permanent color, since it's always not available when I look for it. Impassioned is part of the MAC Fashion Sets Collection in some countries.

Maybelline Coral Crush

This is the first Maybelline lipstick that I bought for myself, in a very long time. It is much more sheer than the two MAC ones, but it is a pretty good coral lippie, that is not heavy on the pocket!

Here are the swatches of the three coral lipsticks:

L-R: MAC Watch Me Simmer, MAC Impassioned, Maybelline Coral Crush

EOS Lip Balm in Strawberry Sorbet

Since this is my last haul for April, I decided to include my first EOS lip balm. I've been dying to try this for months! I finally decided to get it, together with the two MAC lipsticks here, online. I ordered from Multiply, from a user called CareFreeShopper. I received my orders, more or less 1-2 days after paying. For my fellow Filipinas who are in the search for hard to find lippies from MAC, you can visit CareFreeShopper here. They also have a Facebook account, view here. Although, if you're from Metro Manila paying through BDO, expect a 50 Php charge, since the seller is from Bacolod. :)

By the way, I realized that I was spending too much on makeup. I'm going to try and not buy any new products this May. In the mean time, this would be my last haul for April-May. Haha! I hope to be successful with this!

For swatches on lips, and/or reviews, look out for the individual posts for each lipstick, soon!

How do you like coral lipsticks? Are you going to try them out?

Current Nails: Pink to Purple Gradient Nails

I saw blog and Instagram posts with gradient nails, and I really wanted to try it out! So here's my first attempt! Luckily, I have a spare cosmetic sponge that time. I'm quite happy with it. :)

I really had fun doing this, that I tried it on my sister, but with different colors. I wanted to try it out on my mom, but she thought it wasn't age-appropriate. Haha!

If you're interested on how to make this, I just searched for tutorials on YouTube. It's really easy! You just need a cosmetic sponge. You can cut it to pieces to save the other parts. I also use cotton buds to clean up excess polish outside the nails. :)

Oh! For this, I used Revlon Top Speed polish in Candy, and The Face Shop's PP406 and PP409. It's actually better if you use a fast drying nail polish as the base color!

I'm excited to try out other combos!
