FOTD: Cabana Glama for the Beach Mama

I thought long and hard for the title. Haha! It was supposedly Cabana Glama for the Summah! HAHA! But I already used the word 'summer' for Summer Haze. Anyway, here it is!

Face:
  • Ellana Make It Last Makeup Primer
  • Some Kind-A Gorgeous in Medium
  • Hoola Bronzer
  • PosieTint
Eyes:
  • Peach Fizz (all over the lids)
  • Bronze Buzz (above the crease)
  • Cocoa Pizzazz (outer corners and on the crease)
  • Estee Lauder eyeliner in Brown
  • Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara
  • Lancome Lezard (brows)
Lips:
  • PosieTint

I only did this makeup look for you guys to see how I used my Cabana Glama. I didn't even go out that day. Haha!

I'm no makeup artist, obviously. I don't even use concealer. I'm also not a makeup expert. I just love makeup!

Also, if you're wondering, I have a scar on my right eye, which makes my lid and lashes look weird in that area.

Love,
Thea

Benefit's Cabana Glama (Swatches & Review)

Cabana Glama is my first purchase from Benefit! Yay! I have been eyeing Benefit products for quite some time now. Their packaging is really adorable, and a lot of people rave about them! I wanted to try a lot of their products, but being a student on a long vacation, I can't afford it yet. Sets like this one are what people, who want to try different products from a brand, should look out for.
Benefit Paper bag

Even their paper bag is adorable!

Here's the Cabana Glama:

Benefit's Cabana Glama

This product, along with the MAC Summer Haze I posted before this, was included in my latest makeup haul. Click here to view.

Products in the Cabana Glama set:

Some Kind-A Gorgeous in Medium

They call it their foundation faker. It's a creamy product that leaves a powdery finish. My first impression of this product, is that it didn't smell good. I really hated the smell of this product. Blech. Also, I feel like this product isn't for people with dry skin. I have oily/combination skin, and it highlights the dry parts of my face. It did give enough coverage. I think this would be perfect for the no-makeup-makeup look. However, I can't really stand the smell. I read reviews, and only a few mentioned the smell. Did we get bad ones, or something?

Aside from Some Kind-A Gorgeous, I loved every product in the Cabana Glama set.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Hoola Bronzer, is one product that is raved about by makeup lovers! Almost all of the YouTube gurus I watch has this, so I really wanted to try it out. The price of a full-sized Hoola Bronzer is 1,600 or 1,800 here in the Philippines, which is almost the cost of this set. What I like about this product is that even if it's powder, it's really creamy. Also, a little goes a long way, and you will see in the swatches that I got a lot of it. Haha!

Peach Fizz, Bronze Buzz, and Cocoa Pizzazz

Three different colors of eyeshadows were also included in the kit. They were really pigmented. When I was trying to swatch it, I rubbed my finger tips multiple times, because it didn't feel like I was getting enough product on, but when I looked at my fingers I already got a lot.

Benefit's PosieTint (sorry for the glare)

Another product that people rave about, the PosieTint! Out of the products in this kit, this was the first I got to use. I love how the color appeared on my lips. It was as if the pink was my natural lip color. However, this could get a little drying, and I advise putting a clear lip balm over it. This is also a teeny tiny product, and I feel like I could only use it once.

Now for the swatches:

(L-R): Peach Fizz, Bronze Buzz, Cocoa Pizzazz,
Hoola Bronzer, Some Kind-A Gorgeous Medium, and PosieTint

Cocoa Pizzazz, Bronze Buzz, and Peach Fizz

See what I told you about the pigmentation?

Peach Fizz, Bronze Buzz, and Cocoa Pizzazz up close

Hoola Bronzer, Some Kind-A Gorgeous Medium, and PosieTint

Look at the Hoola Bronzer swatch! Haha! I piled it on since it's difficult to see on my tan skin.

I also created a look using all of the products here. I'm going to post it soon. I think Cabana Glama is worth the purchase, if you're like me, who's a Benefit newbie. You get to try a lot of products for the price of a full-sized one. Also, you can create the perfect summer look with this kit!

Would you give it a try?

That's it for Cabana Glama! Hope you liked this entry! You can click here, to see a look using these products.

MAC Summer Haze from Naturally Collection (Swatches)

MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow in Summer Haze
Price: 1,200 Php at Rustan's

MAC Summer Haze was part of the Naturally collection that was released more than a month ago. So, yeah, I know I'm late with posting swatches, but I still will. I got this during the end part of March. In fact, this was part of the collective makeup haul that I posted earlier this month. Click here to view! I don't know if they're still selling this, but when I got it, they didn't have it on display anymore. I just asked if they still have it, and they did! The girl just pulled it out from a drawer.

Here's a close-up of the pan. Summer Haze is a mineralize eyeshadow. I was choosing between Daylight and Summer Haze, and obviously Summer Haze won. The reason why I decided to get this was because Ingrid, or missglamorazzi on YouTube, raved about this for a short while. I liked the e/s on her so much, I wanted to get my own. If you still want to own this shade, it may still be available in some stores here in the Philippines. When I got mine, they still have a couple in stock.

Isn't it pretty? I chose the veining on this one! :)

I decided to swatch different parts of the shadow. I swatched the champagne color first, the bronze-y color, then the mixture of the two. Here they are:

MAC Summer Haze swatches
(indoor lighting, without flash)

MAC Summer Haze
(with flash)

The reason why I picked the veining is so that I can use the two color separately, aside from just using the blend of the two.

I love this eyeshadow for everyday use. The champagne color also does well as a highlight for the inner corners of the eyes.

What do you think of MAC Mineralize Eyeshadows?

Hope you liked this post!

Love,
Thea

I'm going to post a look using this soon! :) (if I don't get too shy about it!)

FOTD post using this product is already posted. Click here to view.

Krave Minerale: Oil Eliminator & Skin Hydrator (Review)

Krave Minerale Oil Eliminator and Skin Hydrator
Price: 285 Php

I got this product more than a month ago, and put it to use right away. My skin type is oily/combination, and I'm really oily on my T-zone. I'm always up to try a product that has "Oil Eliminator"/Anti-Shine in its name.

What is it?

According to their site:
OIL ELIMINATOR and SKIN HYDRATOR is translucent so it won't interfere with other mineral makeup colors you are wearing. Plus, it is specifically formulated to virtually erase the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles & large pores when applied.
  • 100% VEGAN & GLUTEN FREE
  • HYPOALLERGENIC
  • NON- COMEDOGENIC (won't clog pores)
  • NON-ACNEGENIC (won't cause acne break outs)
  • NANO PARTICLE FREE
View more information about this product here.

How do I use it?

This product claims to be a primer and finishing powder in one. I never tried it out as a primer, but I use it as a finishing powder.

After putting on my makeup, I set it with this powder. It may leave your face a little whiter, and you really have to blend it properly. It comes with a puff, but if you want it to blend with your natural color, you have to use a fluffy powder brush. I use it on my T-zone, and tried using it on my lids to set my eye makeup. It really does prolong the freshness of your face, but only for 1-2 hours. Maybe the time differs per person, but since my T-zone is REALLY oily, it just prevents oil for 1-2 hours for me.

As for trying it on the lids, over the eye makeup, it prolongs the wear of my eyeshadow without any other eye primer. However, the thing that I don't like about using this over eyeshadow is that it alters the color a little bit and I can't really blend it that well, since the blending would also affect the eyeshadow.

For the packaging, I already mentioned that it came with a small puff that I don't use. I don't really like the whole packaging, since I find it difficult to open when I shut it completely. So what I do is I don't close it all the way. I leave some space so that I could easily open it without using my nails to pry it open. Also, since the powder is really fine, it easily flies all over when you open it. I knew this in advance, so I didn't peel the sticker off completely to reveal all the holes that the product comes out of. I only use less than half the amount of holes, but mine still manages to be messy. I keep the puff in the container to stop the product from flying all over when I open it.

Over all, I think this is an okay product. It does the job for me, but only for a few hours. I would repurchase, if I still don't find a holy grail oil eliminator. For now, I will keep using this until I run out of it. It's a good product, especially for the price. You also don't have to use a lot, and only use it on the parts where you get really oily.

Click here to purchase this product, or any other Krave Minerale products.

Hope this helped some of you out.

Love,
Thea

I'm not paid to do this review, nor am I affiliated with Krave Minerale.

NOTD: Expresso

Current nail polish: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Expresso. I love the formula, and I love the brush. I only applied one coating, and it came off opaque right away. The brush is wider, thus covering more nail space. It does need some getting used to, since I cleaned up a lot on the sides of my nails.

Here's a picture of the brush:

It's wider, and it lessens the number of times you have to go through your nails.

If you're into nail polish, be sure to check this out!

Hope you liked this!

Mac Lustre: Plumful (Swatches)

This lipstick is another product included in my latest makeup haul that can be viewed here.

Mac Lustre Lipstick in Plumful AB1
Price: 1,000 Php at Rustan's

Here are swatches!

Here it is when worn:

So far, I only have two Mac lipsticks, and Plumful is very similar to the other one I have, which is Craving. The difference is that Plumful is more on the pink side, while Craving is more on the purple. However, Craving is an Amplified Lipstick, which means that the color is more vibrant. Over all I think that it is more practical to get the Amplified ones that Mac makes. They are the kind that is true to its color, and 'what you see is what you get'.

Mac Plumful is an addition to my everyday colors. It now comes second to my Lancome Rose Diams, as most grabbed lipstick. :)

Hope you found this helpful! Check out my previous lip-related entry, the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains, here.

Garnier Oil Clear Self-Heating Sauna Mask (Review)

Garnier Oil Clear Mask

I've been using this mask for about a month now. It was included in my Hair and Skin Care Haul. If you haven't seen it yet, click here.

Here's the description and directions at the back. I've been using this twice a week. It says that the pack is for two applications, but I used half of the pack for more than 5 times. I just apply it on my T-zone, so there's really no reason why you have to use so much. You just have to seal it properly after every usage.

I use this on a clean face, preferably after I scrub my face with the apricot scrub. You have to moisten your skin before application. I think that the moisture activates the heating in the mask. I noticed that when I wash it out, it gets a little bit hotter. I personally think this is a good product. It works in a way that it opens up your pores, and cleanses each one. It's a good product if you're oily/combination and prone to whiteheads and/or blackheads. I find that it's a good product to maintain clean pores when you get your blackheads extracted from time to time. However, I recommend using a toner to tighten the pores after you wash off the mask. You don't want to leave your pores open, especially if you apply your mask in the morning.

Overall, this a really good product for me. It works, and it didn't break me out. The price is also a big plus, since the two packs cost less than 50 Php, and I can get more than 10 applications from them. :)

I was able to purchase this at First Aid at Greenbelt 3, if you're interested. Go give it a try. At 50 pesos, you can't go wrong with this.

Hope this helped!

Love,
Thea

Revlon Just Bitten: Gothic and Crave (Swatches and Review)

In my previous post, I mentioned I'm going to be swatching the two Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains that I got.
So here they are!

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain in Crave and Gothic
Price: 595 Php

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm

Gothic and Crave swatches on my arm

Revlon Just Bitten Crave on lips without the lip balm

Revlon Just Bitten Crave on lips with the lip balm

Revlon Just Bitten in Gothic with the lip balm

Without the lip balm, the lip stain would be drying on the lips. However, with the lip balm, it looks and feels like a moisturizing lipstick. I just applied one layer, but this could definitely be layered on. It lasts longer than a lipstick, and is quite difficult to remove. This also won't transfer to glasswares, clothing, or your boyfriend's lips!

Sometimes, when I find the color too harsh (since I don't have the lighter shades yet(?)), I try to lighten it using baby wipes. That method totally works for me, but I still want the lighter shades. I guess the only problem is you won't really know when you'll run out. You can't see the amount of product inside. Also, you should always put the cap back on, or else the product will dry out.

Other than that, this is an amazing product. I don't hear a lot of people raving about this product, but I like it better than the Revlon Lip Butters. I think this product is perfect for the summer when you go to outings, since you wouldn't need to reapply that much! I also used Gothic as a base when I used my Chanel Gabrielle.

This product made me want to try other lip stains from other brands. I'm thinking about higher end ones like the Benefit lip and cheek tints. I actually have a little sample of PosieTint from the Cabana Glama, which was also included in my previous post, but I don't think I would be able to do a post on it.

That's it for today's entry! Hope you enjoyed it, and found it helpful!

Love,
Thea

Collective Makeup Haul!

Hello everyone! I know it's been more than a week since my last entry, and I'm sorry. However, I have a makeup haul that I'm pretty excited about. I have tried most of the products that I will mention, and as usual, I will post a review after a month of using it. I will also write separate entries for some of these products, to be able to show you the colors, and how it looks like when worn.

Without further ado, here's my haul.

Orly Calcium Shield
Price: 245 Php at First Aid

I got this because I needed a new base coat, and my sister recommended this. It's supposed to strengthen your nails, and that's exactly what my brittle nails need.

Marionnaud N38 Double-sided brush
Price: 60 Php at Watsons

This is my new brow brush. I love that it is double-sided. I use the brush side to put on the shadow to my brows, and the spoolie brush to kind of spread the color out, and of course, to comb out my brows.

Mac Lipstick in Plumful
Price: 1000 Php

I wanted to get this the same day I got Craving, but it was out of stock then. I plan to do a separate swatch post for this lipstick. :)

Palladio Herbal Eyeshadow Primer
Price: 385 Php

My first decent eyeshadow primer! I say decent because I got Ellana's eyeshadow primer, and reviewed it here. So far, I love this primer!

Mac Mineralize Eyes hadow in Summer Haze
Price: 1,200 Php

I wanted this eye shadow the first time I saw it on Ingrid or missglamorazzi's video. If you like watching beauty vlogs, you can view her YouTube channel here. I'm really happy I got this.

Maybelline Magnum Mascara
Price: 399 at Mercury Drug

This is the washable one. I ran out of my CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara, and thought I'd try this one out. I think this is the Asian equivalent of their Colossal Mascara.

Revlon Just Bitten
Price: 595 Php at Watsons

I'm surprised that this didn't get that much hype. I got two of the darkest colors. I want to get all the colors! I'm also going to be doing a separate entry for this product.

Benefit's Cabana Glama
Price: 2000 Php

My first Benefit purchase! I haven't used this yet, but when I do, I'll let you know! Emily Eddington, emilynoel83 on YouTube just got this, too! Check out her YouTube channel here. I'm really excited about this product!

Last is an organizer.

Acrylic Lipstick Rack
Price: 99.75 each at Landmark

I got two of the ones with 9 slots instead of getting one that can hold more, because I'm going to be staying in a dorm soon, and I don't plan to bring all my lipsticks with me. I thought I'd have one here at home, and I'll just bring my most worn lipsticks. If I get more lipsticks, I might need to get another one of these. :P

That's it for my makeup haul. I posted all the prices and where I got them, so that if you're interested you can check it out. I know for myself, that posting the prices will help interested readers, a lot!

Hope you enjoyed! Subscribe to my blog to get notifications for new posts, details on my side bar :)
